Accomodations
Our unusually spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom suites are beautifully decorated with the finest furnishings and modern conveniences. The suites sleep six and are perfect for a couple or an entire family.
After a round of golf at a nearby club, a day of sailing or sightseeing relax in a whirlpool style bathtub. Enjoy a crackling fire in the fireplace while accessing the Internet, sip cocktails on the private balcony overlooking Newport Harbor before an evening on the town or preparing a private feast.
The Wellington is a vacation ownership resort as well as a hotel. You will find many hidden touches that no hotel or inn could match.

Newport has always been a great culinary destination. In recent years, many new Newport restaurants have opened, offering an amazing variety of options to suit any taste. With over 100 restaurants and bars in Newport almost all within walking distance to each other, you could spend weeks just sampling all that it has to offer.
A sample day of dining in Newport might include coffee and a danish while enjoying harborside views from the dock on Adirondack chairs at the end of Bannister's wharf, a casual sandwich at a local deli and then dinner at one of Newport's seafood restaurants that line America's Cup Avenue and Thames Street in downtown Newport. Whatever your dining tastes are, Newport has something to fit your palate and budget!
Whitehorse Tavern - The White Horse is famous for being America's longest operating tavern, opened in 1697. Elegant, long traditional dining in historic, colonial surroundings. Fireplaces in the cooler months are wonderful. American cuisine nicely prepared. Consistently good service. Reservations essential on weekends. Dress: Business Casual/Formal. Though once required, jackets now only recommended.
Cafe Zelda - Gracing downtown Newport, this casual cafe favors guests with its fine American cuisine, from signature gourmet burgers to fresh seafood, sizzling steaks and hearty sandwiches. Try the Roasted Beef and Marinated Goat Cheese Sandwich, the Spinach Salad, the Chicken Fried Lobster or the Garlic and Herb Roasted Chicken Breast served with a side of Zelda's infamous mac n' cheese. The wine cellar is quite large, with a fine collection of French, American and Italian wines.
The Black Pearl - One of Newport's best-known and best-loved restaurants," the Black Pearl on Bannister's Wharf invites you to enjoy the warm ambience and classic cuisine of the Commodore's Room and Tavern and the al-fresco charm of the Waterside Patio and raw bar. Though the Black Pearl is open seven days a week, it is seasonally closed from January through mid-February.
Newport Blues Cafe - 286 Thames Street, Newport, RI 02840, 401-841-5510, As well as wonderful Blues music, this restaurant and club offers four levels, including the downstairs “vault” with a pool table, the function the room, the main level, and an upstairs lounge; the menu includes a wide range of American dishes and seafood specialties.

1. Where is the Wellington Resort located?
The Wellington Resort is located on 551 Thames Street (corner of Thames St. and Wellington Ave.) in Newport, Rhode Island. 20 miles away from T.F. Green Airport.
2. How can I make a room reservation?
Reservations can be made by calling 401-849-1170 between the hours of 8 A.M. - 8:30 P.M.
3. Are we able to book, cancel, or modify reservations on the website?
Unfortunately, no. Because of the complexity of our timeshare, it is important for you to talk directly with a staff member to insure availability.
4. Does the Wellington have a minimum stay?
Yes. The minimum stay is two days for Friday and Saturday Nights and one day minimum for Sunday thru Thursday Nights.
5. Does the Wellington Resort offer weekly rates?
Yes. To inquire about rates and availability, you may call 401-849-1770 ext. #0.
6. What time is check in and check out?
Our check in time is 4 P.M. If you arrive before 4 P.M., no worries. You are welcome to check with the front desk and leave your luggage in our secure clubhouse while you enjoy a walk on Thames Street, one of our local restaurants, our pool, spa, or tennis courts.
Our check out time is 10 A.M.
7. What type of recreational amenities are available?
Indoor and Outdoor Swimming Pools, Sundecks, Tennis Courts, Outdoor Grilling (BBQ), Fitness Room and Saunas.
8. What types of amenities are in the Suites?
Accomodations are 1200 sq. ft. with Full or Partial kitchens including dishwasher, washer and dryer. All Suites have cable television, DVD/VCR Players, fireplace, whirlpool bathtub and outdoor balconies with water views.
9. Is the Wellington handicap accessible?
Yes.
10. Are children permitted at the Wellington?
Yes, children are very much welcome at the Wellington. Our indoor/outdoor pools, tennis courts, spacious room size and surrounding area means fun and excitement for you and your young family.

The Wellington does not directly offer childcare. However, we can direct you to several local services who can assist you and your family with child care needs.

Sorry, no we do not. But there are boarding kennels in the area.
