Directions to Newport

We're looking forward to your visit. In preparation, and given the current bridge maintenance project in Providence, we recommend choosing a route that does not take you through Providence. Here are some simple directions based on your starting point:

  • Coming from the North, Boston area –  Rt. 24 S to Rt 195 W (1/2 mile) to the first exit back onto Rt. 24S, then follow signs to Newport / Newport Beaches to Memorial Blvd, then at the 2nd light (Memorial Blvd / Americas Cup) turn left onto Thames St to 551 Thames St.
  • Coming from the East, Cape Cod area – Rt. 25 W to Rt 195 W to Rt 24 S, then follow signs to Newport / Newport Beaches to Memorial Blvd, then at the 2nd light (Memorial Blvd / Americas Cup) turn left onto Thames St to 551 Thames St.
  • Coming from Conn / New York areas  -  Rt 95 N to exit 14A towards North Kingstown onto RI – 102 S (Victory Hwy) to RI – 4 S towards Narragansett, continue on Tower Hill Road (US – 1 S), then take the ramp onto RI – 138 E towards Jamestown / Newport Bridges.  Go over Newport Bridge and follow signs to Newport Center to Americas Cup Drive, then at the light (Memorial Blvd / Americas Cup) turn right onto Thames St to 551 Thames St.
